The Rotary Family Carnival: Playing Our Part to End Malaria
Working with thousands of business companies around the world for Ideas
Since 2022, Malaria Free Uganda (MFU), in partnership with Rotary Uganda and other multisectoral partners, has hosted the annual Family Carnival every 1st weekend of December. This flagship event is more than just a celebration; it is a powerful platform for domestic resource mobilization and advocacy, timed to coincide with the school holiday season.
The Carnival unites families, corporate leaders, and communities in the fight against malaria. Crucially, it has mobilized over UGX 1.8 billion in cash and in-kind contributions across four editions. These funds directly support national priorities, particularly strengthening Uganda’s blood transfusion services a critical need for managing severe malaria in children.
Entertainment with purpose
By blending entertainment with purpose, the Carnival demonstrates that collective, local action is key to achieving a malaria-free Uganda by 2030. Join us for the next edition!
